This week I worked on a motor driven ramp to test PID loops, so I know how to use them when I implement them into my monorail. I followed a guide I found online to make the model, which is a foot long track, mounted on a hinge and controlled by a servo motor. The idea is that there is a sensor on one end that detects a ball's position along the track, and sends the data to the servo motor, which adjusts the track and tries to balance it in the middle.

The Sensor senses the distance of the ball in millimeters, and converts it to a value between 0 and 180, which the servo uses to position itself accordingly. This means that as the all moves close or farther from the sensor, the servos will react and adjust to resist the motion accordingly.
